willkommen ourmedia, prima alternative zu youtube

tja, nachdem youtube mal so eben seine nutzungsbestimmungen ?nderte und mit meinen clips machen will, was es will, bin ich auf die suche nach alternativen gegangen. denn genau das hatte mich bei anderen anbietern vorher abgesto?en und zu youtube gebracht, dies uneingeschr?nkte weltweite vermarktungs- und nutzungsrecht meiner videos, ungefragt und unentgeltlich.
warum ich eine videoplattform suche und nicht eigenen webspace nutze, wie vorgeschlagen? haupts?chlich wegen der community, denn der austausch und kontakt mit anderen ist in meinen augen wichtig und spannend, das anschauen anderer clips und die entsprechenden kommunikationsm?glichkeiten ebenso. das kann ich nicht auf eigenem webspace, auch gibt es da keine software, die die clips entsprechend zum einbinden ins weblog anbietet, keine kommentarfunktion usw., auch der speicherplatz und traffic sind wichtige gr??en.
endlich, nach langem suchen, m?hevollem lesen diverser “terms of use”, nutzungsbedingungen, agb’s und dem ganzen rest, habe ich das gefunden, wonach ich suchte: ourmedia – the global home for grassroots media

zugegeben, da bin ich schon vor einigen monaten mal vorbeigesurft und war etwas abgeschreckt, weil es mir ein wenig zu umst?ndlich schien und youtube bot die simplere alternative.
das wichtigste vor einer anmeldung bei ourmedia ist, da? du einen account (eine ‘library card’) beim internet archive (einem der haupt’sponsoren’, die stellen den speicherplatz) hast und dich dann mit der gleichen e-mailadresse bei ourmedia anmeldest. dann bekommst du aber einen monsteraccount f?r video, audio und text …, sogar ein miniblog (kann man aber nichts gro? einstellen oder layouten) ist f?r dich dabei und alles kostenlos. begeistert haben mich die nutzungs- und die copyright-bedingungen, absolut fair und du kannst zwischen verschiedensten modellen w?hlen, von creative commons, gnu, public domain bis hin zum ‘traditional copyright’. die ladezeiten sind nicht die schnellsten und wie gesagt, alles etwas gew?hnungsbed?rftig, doch die anbindung an das internet archive und die graswurzel-idee gefallen mir sehr gut (geklaute tv-clips will ich ja eh’ nicht einstellen, sondern nur eigenes) und gespeichert werden sollen die dateien bis… f?r immer, also auch wenn ich nicht mehr auf erden wandele. nun werde ich die plattform mal austesten und hoffentlich geht alles gut.

Why is Creative Commons the default license on Ourmedia?
You may choose any kind of license ? or even traditional copyright, if you wish. But copyright law is murky doctrine in cyberspace, and Creative Commons nicely spells out what may or may not be done with your work on the Internet. For instance, a blogger could repost your image on her weblog ? and credit you ? if your photo gallery allows noncommercial use of the work; if you chose traditional copyright (no copying allowed), the blogger would be violating the law.
Can I change my decision, or choose a different Creative Commons license for my material later on?
Yes. At any time. Change the license directly on the item?s media page, or withdraw it from Ourmedia with our Deletion requests form.

How long will my materials be stored? Did you say forever?
The Internet Archive has been archiving nearly everything on the open Web since 1996. The Archive maintains its own site, but nearly all of Ourmedia’s user-generated media will be stored on the Internet Archive’s ultra-large servers (racks of Petaboxes, actually). The archive’s founder, Brewster Kahle, has pledged to preserve these materials for generations to come.
Whoa! That means my grandkids could see the stuff I’m publishing today.
That’s right. So keep that in mind.
What does it cost?
It’s free. Actually, it’s better than free ? it will save you bandwidth and storage fees. Rather than relying on a paid staff that serves as gatekeepers, we’re building a do-it-yourself mechanism that lets users anywhere in the world upload material, view or share media (depending on the license), rank their favorite works, and offer commentary and tutorials. All for free. A community of volunteers will monitor problems or complaints.
